Celebrating 175 years

stewHaving baptized thousands of Catholics throughout the years, St. Ann’s Church along with the Elementary School, Early Learning Center, and Religious Education programs continue to serve as the epicenter for Catholic evangelism and education here in Windward, O’ahu. The year 2016 marks another milestone in the legacy and traditions we know here at St. Ann Church and Schools as we celebrate our 175th Anniversary. It is fitting that we celebrate in acknowledgment of our past, present, and future with a series of events between May and October of 2016 that are inspired by two fundamental principles to our Catholic identity: Prayer and Fellowship.

Here are some of the exciting events that are being planned in celebration of this milestone:

  • May 13, 2016—Living Rosary Prayer Service. The 175th Celebration series kicks off with prayer as a St. Ann parish community. The Living Rosary Prayer Service will be the largest Rosary prayer service seen in years here at St. Ann.
  • June 18, 2016—Taste of St. Ann & Anniversary Cookbook Launch. Our annual social event returns to our beautiful campus. Please see the flyer that was sent home to volunteer as a chef, server or cleaner or to purchase tickets.
  • July 22, 2016—Feast of St. Ann Prayer and Music Concert. Music and hymns are important expressions of prayer and this concert will be geared to enhance our community’s devotion to our faith.
  • August 26, 2016—Anniversary Book and Coin Launch. Be the first to view and receive pre-ordered copies of our 175th Anniversary publication and commemorative coin, keepsakes that will mark this incredible milestone in St. Ann’s history.
  • September 15, 2016—Conclusion of 175 hours of Perpetual Adoration and Benediction Service. As a gesture of the role Jesus plays in our very active everyday life, the faithful will have an opportunity to devote an hour or more in adoration to the Lord.
  • October 15, 2016—175th Anniversary and Celebration Luau. In typical Hawaiian fashion, our celebration series will conclude with a grand Hawaiian luau. Great food, wonderful entertainment, and fellowship will be the culmination of this once in a lifetime celebration!

Be on the lookout for announcements and more information as St. Ann Church and Schools celebrates our legacy.
