champs1This year St. Ann welcomed back Head Volleyball Coach, Henry Amaral. Coach Henry returned to coach our Na Ali’i after a little over a decade hiatus from our St. Ann Ohana. He has been coaching many well renowned school and club volleyball teams throughout his coaching career. Coach’s experience pushed our Na Ali’i Girls to learn drills, skills, and rotations that most of our players were not accustomed to.

champs2The 2016 Catholic Schools League Volleyball Season was a learning opportunity for our Na Ali’i. They took full advantage of the tremendous knowledge that Coach Henry brought to our program. The girls’ regular season Win to Loss Record ended at 2 and 5. Although they had a bit of a rough season, they entered the Catholic Schools League Volleyball Tournament hopeful for a trophy.

The girls found their footing during the Catholic Schools League Tournament, and came together beautifully. They really took to the court gracefully, and played some excellent matches. Our Na Ali’i emerged from the tournament as Pool B Champions! We could not be prouder of you girls!

Mahalo to our team managers Aidan Fraiola, Brooke Fraiola, and Lehiwa Kapu for all of their hard work and support throughout the season. Please congratulate our champions if you see them on campus. They are Larissa Polendey (Captain), Emily Brown, Brelee Perreira, Rylee Ramirez, Kawena Kapu, Lexie Jaz Manago, Brynn Castello, and Emma Pasa.
