Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Today’s first reading condemns those who hoard their own wealth. The Gospel paints a vivid picture of what awaits those who ignore the poor by choosing to make material wealth and possessions the center of their lives. Much of today’s advertising urges us to place our hope for happiness in the accumulation of material possessions. What we accumulate in this life will remain behind when we die, but the promise of eternal will never pass away. Let us ask God for the strength to make the right choices in this life.
What choices have you made this past week that reflect today’s Gospel message of generosity?
