Twenty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” The Pharisees and scribes complain about Jesus’ behavior in today’s Gospel. That behavior is no less true right here and right now. Whether we like to admit it or not, each of us is a sinner. Each week the Lord gathers us around the table of the Eucharist to celebrate a feast of reconciliation. Here we know the love and forgiveness of God. Here we gather with others as God calls us to conversion of heart. Here, just as at the tables where Jesus ate with sinners, we know the fullness of God’s grace.
How have you experienced reconciliation through the celebration of the Eucharist?
