Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
This week, the first reading and Gospel remind us that hospitality is a hallmark of Christian behavior. Christian hospitality is, at its heart, a work of justice. God calls us to extend a welcome to anyone who comes into our midst. Like the message from last week’s parable of the Good Samaritan, this call to hospitality has challenging implications. In welcoming the stranger, we not only imitate Christ, we also have the potential of welcoming Christ into our midst.
Name ways you have extended Christian hospitality to a stranger. How does our parish extend this kind of hospitality?
