Building One Body in Christ. This year we certainly Built One Body in Christ as we worked diligently to build a dynamic learning atmosphere that allowed you to participate in new classes and community events. You have all soared in your academics, service learning projects, retreats and mass participation. This was a wonderful year of Building One Body in Christ.
In keeping with our goal to maintain a dynamic learning atmosphere, our Jr. High students were presented with Elective classes that included Choir, Photography, Yoga, Spanish, Polynesian Culture and Art History. With great anticipation and enthusiasm, you participated in these exciting new classes during the first semester, allowing you to form a deep appreciation for your chosen elective. In January, we incorporated the fourth grade class into the elective schedule and Robotics was added to the list of electives. With the growing initiative of STEM subjects in our High Schools and College curriculum, this was a necessary addition to our course schedule and is in line with our continued effort to invigorate your learning experience.
We are proud of the work we do here at St. Ann Model Schools and we are even prouder of you, our students. Therefore it was easy to participate in public events that allowed us to show our community the caliber of students we have here on campus. We enjoyed being a part of the Kaneohe Christmas Parade and featured one of the largest groups ever submitted by our school and parish. Na Alii pride shone brightly as we featured our St. Ann Model School Choir at local malls, showcased our students’ artwork at State venues and art competitions and watched in excitement as our Boys and Girls Volleyball, Track and Field and Basketball teams brought home championships in their respective divisions. We are so proud of each and every one of you and all that you have accomplished this school year.
For those of you who are returning to our school in the fall, we thank you for choosing St. Ann Model School. We are blessed to have each and every one of you as we continue to Build One Body in Christ. We look forward to working closely with you in the school year ahead and we can’t wait to share with you additional innovations that we will introduce in the 2016-2017 year. Parents, we thank you for recognizing that St. Ann Model School is a great option for your child’s educational needs.
For those of you who are leaving, we ask God to bless you in your future endeavors. We know that you will take the skills we have taught you and apply them well. You are always welcomed here at our beautiful campus and you will always be a part of our ‘ohana. We will miss you.
As you get ready for summer vacation, remember all that you have learned throughout this school year. As Fr. Herman would say,” Give your Mom and Dad a big hug and thank them for all that they give you.” Remember to thank God too as he is an important part of your life and loves you very much. May God bless you in everything that you do and may you have a wonderful fun-filled summer.
‘O wau iho no me ka ha’aha’a, (Humbly yours)
