SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS

Every class here at St. Ann’s undertakes a Service Learning Project each year.  It is something we teach all the children as an integral part of their Catholic values.  We all have a moral obligation to help others in need.

The 4 year olds have been studying the life cycles of a pumpkin, flower, lady bug, butterfly, chicken, and human,.  After lesson’s  about life cycles the Dolphins (4’s) end their study with a visit to Pohai  Nani Retirement Home, to perform  songs, recite poems, as well as have fellowship with the senior citizens.  The children learn  how to be compassionate and respectful towards  all living things created by God.  Both dolphins and Kupuna were very excited!  The children had a hands on fun activity that linked to their service learning.  After their visit the children drew a reflection on  their favorite part of their visit to Pohai Nani Retirement Home and made a class book for Author’s Day which will take place on May 4, 2016.
