DURING LENT WE STRIVE TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES…
In this Lenten season the kindergarteners focused on positive changes in their lives. On February 10th, at the Ash Wednesday service, Father Herman talked about prayer—sacrifice—almsgiving and good deeds, which made a big impact on the students. The kindergarten class concentrated on praying for family members and others who were ill so that they would get better.
The children always remember the part of the prayer they say each morning to St. Ann. They pray “Aole no wale nou”, “Not for our selves alone” with a positive attitude toward making changes in their thoughts and actions during Lent. They also saved their monies that they would normally use for a special treat and decided to put it into their “operation rice bowls”.
Whenever the children did a “Good Deed” they had a chance to color petals on flowers in their Lenten garden. They now have a garden full of colored flowers! Good job Bears!
