Today’s Reflection: Third Sunday of Lent
We use the expression “fig leaf” for an attempt to hide an uncomfortable truth. The fig tree is a sign to warn us. We cannot expect that repenting of our sins, healing the damage they cause and restoring a right relationship with God will be painless. Lent serves as a reminder to take stock of where we ought to be, compared to where we are. Then, we must do something to close the gap to strengthen our own spiritual health.
What “fig leaves” do you need to leave behind this Lent in order to return to God?
